Recycling
Re-use Reduce Recycle
What do I know about recycling?
My personal knowledge and understanding of recycling. We as humans can re-use :
Glass
Water
Paper
Plastic
Material
We can reduce our waste by taking our useful waste by taking it to recycling companies. The only problem is that we in the township don’t know the places that do that. We need to help and ourselves and do it for our environment and the future of our children so that they can enjoy our beautiful nature.
Why is recycling important?
It’s important for the sustainability of our resources and for the future generations to come. We can each make a difference to help our planet survive this generation of waste. It reminds me of the song of Micheal Jackson Heal the world make it a better place for you and for me and the entire Human race.
I have most recently read a statement that says and i quote “only when the last tree has been cut down. Only when the last river has been poisoned.Only when the last fish has been caught.Only when the last drop of water has been wasted.only then will we find that money cannot be eaten.”
I had an idea this morning about recycling in the townships of Knysna. In our townships there is alot of waste of plastic bags , tins ,glass bottles etc. and so much useful things. IT got me thinking.Maybe just maybe if we have enough manpower and knowledge and the skills of Art and of Creative thinking we can do so much powerful works of ART.I met my friend Lyn in town at her art class She gives art lessons for the kids and the most creative ideas and beautiful art they create with recycling its just amazing.I’m not an artist ,but i see the talent of our people and especially the children wow the talent just waiting to come out.
We as people can ask ourselves a lot of Questions but the most important one is WHY? Why is there so much ignorance amongst us all.Why do we not think about our future. Many may say that the future is not important than the now,but what happens then.We waste now we use now ,we thinks just now, eventually nothing will sustain itself anymore. We dont stop and think and ask example “what will happen if i throw this plastic bag out of the car window”,as long as i just got rid of it and my car is clean. We must all stand together and fight for our mother nature just listen she is calling. She is crying for us to stop cutting our trees .Enough buildings now.

Bonnie if this is so important why is it that we know so little and are doing even less, if anything at all?
We have shown you how to add content and pictures to the web and this changes everything. You now have the power to communicate and more importantly the power to do things. There is nothing stopping you other than your imagination. But it still leaves us with the how?
I have a few ideas. I have set up Cyclingwise.com and I would like you to list all the service providers you can find in the Garden Route in the recycling industry. You can also start listing other role players involved with environmental issues and if warranted we can always set up sites to deal with them in more detail.
I have already got it to rank on some important Google searches. And you can then contact the businesses you list and offer them free features to promote the services they provide. In time and in partnership with the businesses and organisations you list, you will end up running a resource that people will use because and only because it is both useful and can be found. Do you see why this is so exciting?
Sooner or later someone will ask you if they can pay to advertise on your site and this is when it will start making a real difference to you.
Hi Mark
The point has come where recycling is no longer an option. I will maildrop my readers re cyclingwise and ask them to sign up if they are in that field.
Yours,
Bruce
Appreciated. It’s a battle to get people pulling in the same direction but I figure if we igore the obvious and just keep at it, something will give eventully. We want to do the same for web services and will mail you when Bonnie feels she as turned the first corner.
I see lot of people in the round picking up plastic bags ,empty bottles for recycling what is going on is the any business in that .
There is a buy back centre in Concordia at the old sawmill and I would assume that this is where they are taking the stuff. But there is not a huge amount of profit in it and the probem I see here is that because the margins are low there is not enough incentive. Most people see recycling as a responsibility, as an obligation and not as an opportunity.
How do we change that?
I see some people goig to that cocoria place with some old staff
But to all that is to make living for themself how can you start business on that.
You can’t. The margins are slim and this is why I say that the problem we have is that conservation, in general, is more of an obligation, a responsibility. The question we have to ask is, yes; how can we start a business on that?
I have got ideas. What about you?
To me this is a simple matter. Everybody knows it is something we should be paying more attention to. So if someone who is trying to start a business dumping garden refuse and rubble, could we not get them to help moving stuff people collect and delivering it to the Buy Back Centre? That is if we advertise for them and if we can get them paying clients for their business?
Would this work?
I made some resech on this at people now the munisipality is involve in the recyling .but the people they do not know how it work so far and the still don’t undersand.this is were i was thinking that i try to organise some people and we start the project of leting send the infomation to public and put those business that are willing to pay for recyling involve as well.
Thank you Umtshana for your comments on recycling.I really think that we all can make a difference to help and being aware of our enviroment.Education and enough awareness can change we as human beings who has the power to change our behaviour.
thanks
Hie Bonnie
the issue of recycling is one of the things that we have to take into actions seriously. i am sure you will agree with me that a man is a very dangerious animal on earth. this technology has totally killed the earth and its one of the things that has driven a man very crazy. but can this technology help as to solve this problem to sustain the earth for the future generation? i was working on a lodge where we had trout fish. we got the water from the river into the the tanks. fish use the water then the water goes through the the filtration channel into the water turbunes where we use this water to generate electricity then it goes back into the river. that is re-using the water that has been used by the fish for electicity and that is green electricity. they drive recycling stuff out its about 60km out of knysna but they still do it because they love the nature why not as in town we are only metres away from the recycling points. do we need some one to tell as about the goodness of reducing waste. everyone can see but we don’t just want to take the actions.
Thanks Tedius for that comment I have learned something new from you about the water. The idea of water generating electricity is so eye opening to me ,to me that means that everything on this planet is connected .We need just to open our minds and think out of the box.Thanks.
